FAQs
GENERAL
Is permanent makeup actually permanent?
Not quite. it's semi-permanent. The pigments I use are designed to fade gradually over time, usually between 1 and 3 years depending on the treatment, your skin type and how you take care of it. That's actually a good thing it means we can adjust and refresh as your face and preferences evolve. Touch-ups keep everything looking its best.
Does it hurt?
Honestly, much less than most people expect. I apply a topical numbing cream before every session so you're as comfortable as possible. Most of my clients describe it as a light scratching sensation! nothing like a body tattoo. Some areas are more sensitive than others, and everyone's different, but I do everything I can to make the experience as easy as possible for you.
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
That's exactly what a consultation is for. We'll look at your face, talk about your goals and figure out together what makes the most sense for you. There's no pressure and no rush. I want you to feel completely confident before we do anything.
How long does a session take?
Naked NanoBrows: 2.5 to 3 hours. Velvet Lip Blush: 2 to 2.5 hours. Silk Eye Liner: 1.5 to 2 hours. Lash Infill: 1 to 1.5 hours. Dark Lip Neutralization: 2 to 2.5 hours. Delicate Ink: under an hour. I never rush. every session gets the time it needs.
Can I come in if I have previous permanent makeup from somewhere else?
Yes, but it depends on what's there and how faded it is. Send me a photo when you reach out and I'll take a look. Some previous work is easy to build on, some needs to be addressed first. I'll always be honest with you about what's possible.
NAKED NANOBROWS
What's the difference between NanoBrows and microblading?
Microblading uses a manual blade that cuts into the skin to deposit pigment. NanoBrows use a digital machine with an ultra-fine single needle. it's much more precise, causes less trauma to the skin and works on a wider range of skin types including oily skin. The results heal more predictably and tend to last longer. It's genuinely the better technique and it's all I do.
How long do NanoBrows last?
Typically 2 to 3 years. Oily skin tends to fade a little faster, and things like sun exposure and certain skincare products can speed up fading too. Annual touch-ups are what I recommend to keep everything looking sharp.
Will they look natural?
That's the whole point. I map every single set of brows to your individual face structure and natural brow pattern every stroke is placed to look like it grew there. If you leave my studio and nobody can tell you had anything done, that's exactly what I was going for.
Can I get NanoBrows if I have no brows at all?
Yes. Whether it's from alopecia, over-grooming, medical treatment or just genetics I can create a full set of brows from scratch that look completely natural on your face.
What does the healing process look like?
Days 1 to 3 they'll look darker and more defined than the final result. that's completely normal. Days 4 to 7 they'll start to flake and peel, and please don't pick at them. By weeks 3 to 4 the colour settles and softens beautifully. You'll see your true final result at around 6 to 8 weeks.
Is the 6-week touch-up included?
The 6-week perfecting touch-up is a separate appointment and isn't included in the initial session price. It's an essential step to achieving your final result and I highly recommend it for every single client. it's where we refine and perfect everything.
Can I wear makeup over my brows after?
Not during the healing period, which is typically 10 days. After that you're completely fine.
What should I avoid before my appointment?
At least 48 hours before: no alcohol, blood thinners, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil or vitamin E. No retinol or vitamin C for at least a week before. No waxing or threading within 2 weeks. I'll send you a full prep guide after you book so you have everything in one place.
VELVET LIP BLUSH
Will it look like I'm wearing lipstick?
No. and that's intentional. Lip blush is a soft tint, not a lipstick effect. The goal is to enhance your natural lip colour and shape so your lips look more defined, more alive and more like the best version of themselves. Most people won't even be able to tell you've had anything done they'll just think your lips look amazing.
How long does lip blush last?
Typically 2 to 3 years. Sun exposure, smoking and certain skincare products can cause faster fading.
Does lip blush make your lips look bigger?
It can create the illusion of a fuller, more symmetrical lip but it doesn't add volume the way filler does. If you want more definition and a more balanced shape, lip blush can absolutely give you that.
What's the healing process like?
Days 1 to 3 your lips will look darker than the final result I know it can feel alarming but I promise it's completely normal. Days 4 to 7 they'll peel and the colour will look very faint or almost gone. Stick with it, it's still healing. By weeks 3 to 4 your true colour settles in beautifully. Final result at 6 to 8 weeks.
Can I eat and drink normally after?
For the first day or two I recommend avoiding very hot, spicy or acidic foods and drinks they can irritate the healing skin. After that, completely normal.
Is the 6-week touch-up included?
The 6-week perfecting touch-up is a separate appointment and isn't included in the initial price. It's essential to your final result and I always recommend it.
I have cold sores — can I still get lip blush?
Yes, but you'll need to take an antiviral medication before your appointment to prevent an outbreak during healing. Please let me know during your consultation it's really important that I know ahead of time so we can plan properly.
SILK EYE LINER
Will it look like drawn-on eyeliner?
Not unless that's what you want. I place the liner right at the lash line to enhance the natural density of your lashes the result is subtle, clean and defined. It's the kind of thing that makes your eyes look more awake and polished without anyone knowing why.
How long does it last?
Typically 2 to 4 years. Results vary depending on your skin type, lifestyle and how you take care of it.
Is it safe near my eyes?
Yes. when it's done by someone who knows what they're doing. I take every precaution to protect your eyes throughout the entire procedure. Your safety is always my priority.
Can I wear contact lenses to my appointment?
Please don't! wear glasses on the day of your appointment and for 24 to 48 hours after.
What's the healing process like?
Very minimal compared to other treatments. Some light swelling and tenderness for the first day or two, and the colour may look slightly darker at first before softening. Most clients are back to completely normal within a few days.
LASH INFILL
Will people be able to see a line?
No. and that's the whole difference between Lash Infill and Silk Eye Liner. The pigment goes between your lashes, not above them. The result looks like you were just born with naturally full, dark lashes. Nobody will see a line they'll just think your lashes are incredible.
How long does it last?
Typically 2 to 3 years.
I have sensitive eyes, is this okay for me?
Mention it during your consultation and we'll figure out the best approach together. A patch test can always be arranged if there are any concerns about sensitivity or allergies.
DARK LIP NEUTRALIZATION
How many sessions will I need?
Most of my clients need between 2 and 4 sessions depending on how deep the natural pigmentation is. Sessions are spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart to give your skin time to heal and show the true result before we go again.
Will my lips be completely light after one session?
No. and I want to be honest with you about that upfront. This is a gradual process. Each session lifts the pigmentation progressively and the results build over time. I'll always show you exactly where we are and what to expect at each stage.
Can I add colour after neutralization?
Yes. once your lips are neutralized to the tone we're happy with, we can add a Velvet Lip Blush on top to give you your perfect colour. A lot of my clients do this and the results are absolutely stunning.
Does it work on all skin tones?
Yes. Dark Lip Neutralization was created specifically for deeper skin tones and heavily pigmented lips. This is something I'm very experienced with and genuinely passionate about. every person deserves to love their lips.
Is the 6-week touch-up included?
The 6-week perfecting touch-up is not included in the initial session price and is an essential step to your final result.
AFTERCARE AND HEALING
What should I avoid after any treatment?
For the first 10 to 14 days: no swimming, saunas, steam rooms or anything that causes excessive sweating. No direct sun exposure. No makeup on the treated area. No picking or scratching. I know it's tempting but please don't. No retinol, acids or exfoliants near the area. I'll send you a detailed aftercare guide after your appointment so you have everything written down.
The colour looks really dark right after, is that normal?
Yes, completely normal for every single treatment I do. The colour always looks more intense immediately after and softens significantly as you heal. Trust the process — your final result shows up at 6 to 8 weeks and it will look nothing like day one.
When can I wear makeup over the treated area?
After your healing period is complete — typically 10 to 14 days.
